There's a new name to know for jewellery in W4. Vstyle is a Chiswick-based brand curating handcrafted and vintage-inspired pieces, much of it sourced from artisans in Italy.

Alongside one-off vintage finds, founder Viviana creates exclusive collections inspired by Sacred Heart and Etruscan designs. Many pieces come from the same workshops that supply luxury Italian fashion houses, so you get that level of craft without the designer price tag.

The focus is distinctive, wearable jewellery built to feel timeless rather than mass-produced.

Welcome back to Inside Chiswick, your weekly guide to the people, businesses and stories that give the area its character.

It’s a big week in W4. Green Days returns this weekend for its 60th year, the World Cup kicks off tonight, and we’ve pulled together a practical guide to where to watch the games locally.

Before that: a Chiswick jewellery brand built on Italian craft, a Grove Park deli worth the short walk, and a local property specialist who does it all personally. Plus some good local news, and a packed events list to see you through the next fortnight.

Glad to have you with us.

Not every Chiswick gem sits on the High Road. Tucked into the quieter streets of Grove Park, this independent deli is the kind of place locals are quietly glad isn't on everyone's radar yet.

Grove Park Deli does fresh, properly made food. Breakfast baguettes, lunch platters and the everyday things you actually look forward to eating. It also handles office catering, buffets, and private events, so it punches well above its size for a neighbourhood deli.

The Grove Park setting is part of the appeal. A few minutes off the beaten track, away from the crowds, and a good excuse to explore a corner of W4 you might not know as well.

If you haven't found it yet, this is your nudge. Worth the short walk.

With Green Days landing this weekend, there’s one account worth following this week.

@bedfordparkfestival is the home of Chiswick's favourite fortnight, run by the team at St Michael & All Angels. Expect the full Green Days run-up: the bandstand lineup, the craft fair makers, this year's Sophie Ellis-Bextor opening, and all the small details that make the weekend what it is.

It's also the quickest way to keep on top of what's happening across the wider festival through to 28 June, from concerts to talks to the art exhibitions.

Worth a follow before Saturday. Then go and see it in person.

Local school celebrated for creative teaching through art
Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School has received a 'highly commended' recognition in The Big Draw, an accolade usually reserved for established art galleries and creative institutions. The school was recognised for their innovative approach to using art as a learning tool across the curriculum, demonstrating how creative practice can enhance education for young students. It’s a lovely local achievement, and a reminder that creative teaching is not just something that happens in galleries and studios.

One business this week, and a useful one to know if you own property in the area. With the rental market shifting under the new Renters' Rights Act, having someone local who handles lettings and sales personally is worth more than ever. Exactly the kind of business we set Inside Chiswick up to find.

If you're letting, selling, or just want someone to manage your home properly, this is one to keep on file.

Monika Rea is a property specialist with nearly 20 years across West and South West London, covering lettings, sales, and full property management. The pitch is simple: you deal with her directly, not a junior, and not a name in a pipeline.

Two offers for Inside Chiswick readers, both running until 30 June:

Landlords: a free, no-obligation lettings review covering your rental value, compliance, and what the recent Renters' Rights Act changes now means for you in practice. Plus one month's free property management with every new instruction.

Sellers: a complimentary staging consultation to present your home at its best and push for the strongest price, with every new instruction.

Mention Inside Chiswick when you get in touch.

Green Days is back. Chiswick's biggest weekend returns to Acton Green this Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June, and this year it's the 60th.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor opens it at 11am on Saturday. After that it's two days of the good stuff: the Tabard beer tent, Macken Brothers on the BBQ, Sipsmith pouring the gin, a craft fair with 20 local makers, bands and choirs on the bandstand, the funfair, the family cycle zone, and more cake than is strictly sensible. Mass on the Green at 10.30am on Sunday.

There's also a tribute to Dame Gillian Lynne, the Chiswick local who choreographed Cats and Phantom of the Opera, marking what would have been her 100th year.

Entry to the Green is free, right on your doorstep, opposite Turnham Green tube. If you do one thing this weekend, do this.

The fΓͺte kicks off the wider Bedford Park Festival, which runs to 28 June with concerts, talks, walks and exhibitions across W4. Most of those are ticketed.

Hogarth Charitable Trust: Summer Wine Tasting | Thu 25 June | 7pm | The Hogarth Youth & Community Centre

One of Chiswick's loveliest summer fixtures, now in its seventh year. Master Sommelier Tim Syrad pours eight wines from lesser-known vineyards around the world, with a quiz, a raffle, and a silent auction including dinner vouchers for La Trompette and Villa di Geggiano up for grabs.

All proceeds go to the Hogarth's summer residential trip, four days away for 35 local young people at the end of the holiday programme. It's a genuinely good cause and a properly fun night.

Places are limited to 70 and filling up fast, so book soon πŸ‘‡

This is our local guide to where to watch the World Cup. It all kicks off today at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, with the opening ceremony from 6:30pm our time and the first match, Mexico v South Africa, at 8pm. The tournament then runs right through to 19 July, and plenty of pubs across W4 are getting involved.

England's group games: Croatia (Tue 17 June, 9pm), Ghana (Tue 23 June, 9pm) and Panama (Sat 27 June, 10pm).

Here's where to watch, with booking links where available. Most take table bookings for the big nights, so get in early.
